Policies
Privacy policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and who else is involved. The short version: very little, and none of it is sold.
Last updated 11 August 2026. This policy describes the site as it currently operates. It will be updated before any additional analytics or advertising services are enabled.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and there is no mailing list.
- The interactive tools store nothing about you on our servers. Any progress is kept in your own browser.
- Downloads are direct PDFs. No email address is required for any of them.
- We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not run cross-context behavioural advertising at present.
What is collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting and content delivery providers record standard server request data: IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the time, and the referring page. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing faults. It is held by our hosting provider under their own retention schedule.
Cookies
This site sets a cookie to remember your response to the cookie notice itself. Beyond that, no first-party tracking or advertising cookies are set at the time of writing.
Our content delivery network may set strictly necessary cookies for security and load balancing. These are not used to profile you.
Analytics
No third-party analytics service is currently active on this site. If we add one, we intend to use a cookieless, privacy-preserving option, and this policy will be updated to name it before it goes live.
Advertising
This site is intended to be supported by display advertising, and our affiliate disclosure describes the commercial model. No advertising network is currently serving ads on this site. When one is enabled, this policy will be updated in advance to name the provider, describe the cookies and identifiers it uses, and set out how to exercise your choices, including opting out of personalised advertising.
Affiliate links
Where an affiliate link is present, clicking it may cause the merchant or their affiliate network to set a cookie recording that you arrived from this site, so that any resulting purchase can be attributed. That cookie is set by the merchant, is governed by their privacy policy, and typically expires within days or weeks. We do not receive your name, payment details, or any other personal information from these programmes, only aggregate reporting.
Messages you send us
If you contact us, we hold your message and contact details for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a record of any correction made. This information is not added to a mailing list and is not shared with third parties.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because we hold very little, in most cases this will amount to server logs and any message you have sent us. To make a request, use the contact page.
Readers in the EEA and UK have these rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. Readers in California have rights under the CCPA as amended, including the right to know and to delete. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA.
Children
This site is written for adult learners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
Our hosting and content delivery providers operate globally, so request data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Where a change introduces new data collection, it will be made before that collection begins, not after.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or any data request, should go through the contact page.
